Prof. Veselovsky N.S. group: NEURONAL NETWORKING
Our group is engaged in the investigation of electrophysiological properties of excitatory and inhibitory central neurons of mammals; expression and functioning of different types of voltage-operated potassium channels in central neurons and participation of these channels in the forming of electrical properties of the neurons; the role of calcium ions and intracellular calcium stores in the regulation of inhibitory synaptic transmission; the relations between peculiarities of presynaptic or postsynaptic neuron and distinctive features of inhibitory postsynaptic currents. Methods we used: cell culturing, whole-cell patch-clamp recording, pair-patch recording, local electrical stimulation of axons and single synapses, fast local superfusion, immunofluorescence staining, single-cell reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis. |
