Research Interests

Study of synaptic transmission between peripheral and central neurons, including the transmission of nociceptive and visual information from the periphery to the CNS. Investigation of the functional state of retinal ganglion cells and synaptic neurotransmission in the visual pathway under hypoxic conditions. Study of the regulation and functioning of ligand-gated and voltage-gated ion channels in neuronal membranes under normal and pathological conditions. Investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying various forms of short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity. Study of the regulation of quantal neurotransmitter release at synapses.
