Present position:
Senior researcher, Department of Hypoxic States, Bogomolets Institute of Physiology National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

Academic and professional honours and awards:
Grand of the Forchungsgruppe “Neurohormonale Wirkungsmechanismen” der Sachsischen Academie der Wissenchaften zu Leipzig an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat, Jena, 2002.
Member of Ukrainian Physiological Society, Member of Ukrainian Pathophysiological Society

Field of research:
biochemistry, physiology, pathophysiology, cellular and molecular biology

Practical Experience: Research of molecular and genetic mechanisms regulation of prooxidant-antioxidant homeostasis, energy metabolism and apoptosis in cells during the development of oxidative stress different genesis (immobilization, hypoxia of various origin, and cardio- and neurotoxins) as well as the role of intracellular thiols (glutathione and thioredoxin systems) and antioxidant enzymes (MnSOD, catalase, etc.) in cellular redox-potential shaping and redox-signaling implementation. Study the peculiarities of compensatory-adaptive reactions formation involving redox-sensitive nuclear transcription factors under the various modes of interval hypoxic training, hypoxic and hypoxic-hyperoxic preconditioning, restrain stress. The correction of pathophysiological disorders by new pharmacological substances.

Procedures and skills:
-Animal handling experience (different models of intermittent hypoxic training and hypoxic states of different genesis, stress exposures, physical exercises, drug intoxication in rats);
- Isolation of the subcellular fractions of rats tissues (cytosol, mitochondria, lysosome, nucleus) and cells of blood;
- Assay of the content of lipid peroxidation products, activity of antioxidant enzymes, enzymatic complexes of the respiratory chain in mitochondria and enzymes of different metabolic cycles;
- determination of the glutathion and thioredoxin systems components (enzymatic and nonenzymatic);
- western transfer and immunoblotting;
- electrophoresis;
- RNA isolation
