− | + | The Department of Biophysics of Ion Channels was established in June 2017 from the laboratory of the same name, which was established in April 2012 based on the staff of the Department [[Department of General Physiology of the Nervous System ]]. The main research subjects in recent years have been the mechanisms of regulation of intracellular concentration of Ca2 + and calcium signaling in nerve and neuroendocrine cells. Experiments use neurons that are isolated or in culture, as well as brain sections. Digital and confocal microscopy), electrophysiological (patch clamp), genetic (PCR), behavioral and mathematical (mathematical modeling). The Department conducts fundamental and applied research in the field of neurophysiology and biophysics. The main attention is paid to intracellular signaling with special emphasis on the study of ion channels. The mechanisms of occurrence and course of such diseases of the nervous system as ischemia, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, and neuropathy are studied.
