How we do our research
The main objects and suppliers of biological materials for our research are laboratory rats.
Many thanks to these small animals for their invaluable contribution to the world's science

Animal (rat) models of pathologies:
- Streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetes;
- Cyclophosphamide(CPA)-induced cystitis;
- N-butyl-N-(4-hydroxybutyl)nitrosamine(BBN)-induced bladder cancer;
- WAG/Rij model of absence epilepsy.

|
Primary cells and cell lines:
- Acutely isolated and cultured primary cell from various rat tissues (neurons, smooth muscle cells, cardiac myocytes, epithelial cells, etc.;
- Cellular systems for heterologous expression of foreign channels and receptors (Xenopus oocytes, cultured HEK-293 cells);
- Cell lines (LNCaP human prostate cancer cell line, P19 pluripotent mouse embryonal carcinoma cells).

Electrophysiology, tensiometry:
- Patch-clamp;
- Double microelectrode voltage-clamp;
- Muscle contraction force measurements.
