Clinical studies on the characteristics of clinical and functional manifestations of glaucoma, retinal vascular pathology, and optic nerve disorders (Veselovska N.M. et al, 2005,2012; Veselovska N.M., Veselovska Z.F., 2005, 2007, 2012, 2017).

Vascular pathology precursors in the retinal neuroarchitecture were identified as markers of prepathological stages of vascular-origin neurodegenerative processes in the visual system.

Theoretical foundations have been established for a new therapeutic approach to treating normal-tension open-angle glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

Clinical studies have shown that the voltage-gated calcium channel blocker amlodipine has beneficial effects on visual function and retinal circulation in patients with glaucoma, retinal disorders, and optic nerve diseases related to vascular and endocrine factors.
